The raw food revolution is coming. It may even be here. It is an uprising of lean, clean and green eating. But raw doesn’t mean just veggies, it means raw everything – including chocolate!

Here are a few of our favourite places to get our raw vegan sugar rush.

And if you’re like us, and love to bake then this is by far the easiest and tastiest recipe.

Ingredients –

2 cups raw almonds
2 tbsp virgin coconut oil
1/2 cup dark agave
2/3 cups raw cacao
6 figs (I like to use the dried ones)
3/4 cup raw shredded coconut
1 tsp cayenne pepper (totally optional! a lot of people like a kick with their chocolate)

Method –

1. Place the almonds in a food processor and grind until a fine texture.
2. Add the coconut oil, agave, cacao and figs to the processor and mix until well combined.
3. Scoop into balls and roll in the coconut to hold them together.
4. Place on a plate, cover and put them in the fridge until firm.

You can keep them in an airtight container in the fridge for about a week, but I doubt your will power will be able to resist that long!
